A lift table — also called a scissor lift table, hydraulic lift cart, or work positioner — is a platform that raises and lowers a load between floor level and working height using a scissor-jack mechanism driven by hydraulic pressure. They are fundamental to ergonomic material handling: instead of bending to floor level or stretching overhead, operators work at a consistent, comfortable height. Factories use them to feed press tools and CNC machines. Distribution centres use them to load conveyors and dock transfers. Breweries and food plants use them to handle kegs, drums and ingredient totes without manual lifting. Assembly lines use them to present heavy subassemblies at the correct angle and height for the next operation.

The lift table market is dominated by two or three branded lines that price aggressively because buyers assume the segment requires a formal quote process. It does not. The hydraulic scissor mechanism has been standardised for decades; the differentiator is compliance documentation and build quality at the factory level — not the distributor's margin. • What is the load capacity? Size the table to the maximum load including the pallet or tray. The JL-HLT and JL-ELT handle up to 1,000 kg; the JL-PLT handles up to 2,000 kg; the JL-SLT goes to 500 kg and the JL-LLT to 400 kg. • What power source is available — and is electricity excluded? In paint booths, solvent handling and chemical mixing areas, electrical equipment at floor level is often prohibited or impractical. The JL-PLT pneumatic lift table runs on standard shop air (0.45–0.6 MPa), no electricity, spark-free. Everywhere else the foot-pedal hydraulic JL-HLT or battery-powered JL-ELT are the first calls.
• Do you need the table to load directly from the floor? A standard scissor lift table bottoms out at around 435–480 mm. If you need to slide under a loaded pallet sitting on the floor, only the JL-LLT low-profile lift table (92 mm minimum height) does that without an intermediate step. • Is the environment subject to washdown? Food processing, pharmaceutical manufacturing, brewing, beverage, meat and dairy plants regularly spray down the floor and equipment with water, sanitisers or acid-based cleaners. Only the JL-SLT stainless steel lift table — 100% 304 stainless construction — is appropriate for these environments.
